Drug Uses
Diflucan is used for handling Vaginal candidiasis (vaginal yeast infections due to Candida), Oropharyngeal and esophageal candidiasis, Cryptococcal meningitis. Diflucan is also used to lower the incidence of candidiasis in patients undergoing bone marrow transplantation who receive cytotoxic chemotherapy and/or radiation treatment.
How Taken
Diflucan comes as a capsule and liquid to take in orally. Usually Diflucan is taken once a day. The liquid should be shaken well before each use to mix the medication evenly. Continue to take Diflucan even if you feel well. Do not stop taking Diflucan without talking to your physician. Follow your doctor`s prescriptions attentively. Do not take more of this drug or take it for a longer period of time than prescribed. Ask you physician for more detailed information if needed.
Additional Information
Avoid drinking alcohol while taking Diflucan. They both can affect the liver. Be careful when driving, operating machinery, or performing other hazardous activities. If you experience dizziness or drowsiness, avoid these activities.
