Drug Uses
Tamiflu (Oseltamivir) is used to treat uncomplicated illness caused by influenza infection. Tamiflu is also very effective in treatment of birdflu and swine flu.
How Taken
Tamiflu comes in capsules for oral administration. Tamiflu can be taken with or without a meal. However, when taken with a meal, the effect from this drug will be better. You should begin treatment within 2 days of onset of symptoms of influenza. The general dosage of Tamiflu is 75 mg two times a day for 5 days. For flu prevention it is recommended to take 75mg once a day for 10 days.
Additional Information
Tamiflu is well tolerated and has minimum negative intercations with other drugs, however before taking Tamiflu you should inform your doctor if you are taking any other medication.
